Double Whammy!

Unfortunately this month saw two of the North East teams relegated from the Premiership, with only Sunderland AFC managing to survive the chop by the skin of their teeth.

There has been a lot of celebration and also heartache in our office, as half of our team are either mackems or mags, with one Red Devil sitting pretty at the top of the tree.

Jokes have been flying around the office like:

‘What was the last ship to leave the Tyne? The Premier Ship’ and

‘What’s The Difference between Newcastle and Alan Shearer? Answer: Shearer will be on ‘Match of the Day’.

Let’s hope next season Newcastle and Middlesbrough both have bounce-back-ability and come straight back up so the derbies can become a fixture to look forward too once again.
