We have currently just completed stage 2 of the Sunderland 2018 World Cup Host City Bid. We were initially asked by Sunderland AFC and Sunderland City Council to produce a brand for the campaign, ranging from the logo design, website design, pop up stands, pull up displays, stationery, t-shirts, flags, banners and other supporting materials, in order for Sunderland to have a solid base for the bid to be launched. Stage 2 consisted of The FA actually coming to Sunderland to see the City’s facilities and to feel the passion Sunderland AFC are generating, to make the bid successful. Ian our MD was kindly invited to the ‘end of visit’ get together at Asiana Restaurant in the Echo 24 building and while there, he bumped into Steve Bruce and Steve Cram. He just couldn’t help himself from slipping into fan mode by asking for a picture with Steve Cram. Nice one Ian. Growing up was fun in the 70’s and the cartoons that were on the TV at the time were absolute classics. Cartoons like Hong Kong Phooey, Captain Cave Man, Catch the Pigeon, Scooby Doo and Top Cat, the list could go on. But, one of my favourites was The Hair Bear Bunch, a group of bears who’s leader was the afroed, fast-talking Hair Bear, who had the biggest and best hair piece in town. Now… this is where cartoon hair styles belong, in the cartoons. Not actually on peoples heads… just take a look at these fellas! What possesses people to style their hair into the most ridiculous shapes! People shaving their heads with bits missing, bizarre colour schemes and sculpting their hair into a cap shape. What’s all that about? But I couldn’t help myself being drawn to Gary Spivey, Psychic Medium/Healer’s hair style as it bizarrely reminded me of my childhood and The hair Bear Bunch. Or it could just be, he reminds me of a giant cotton wool bud! Majestic Spivey, majestic.

You’ve all heard of cowboy builders, shoddy work, work that’s been carried out and we are not happy with and so on, but when it comes down to absolute brain burps these must take the biscuit! Angela from our gang came across these images that you would not believe anyone in their right mind would actually give the go ahead too, but somebody has… and it’s STUPID! My favourite is the 2 step, handrail to nowhere!
